Fresh Pork Protocol:
- 100% Berkshire Breed - FatBack fresh pork pigs come from a 100% Berkshire bloodline.
- Weight Requirement - Delivered live weights must be between 250 lbs. and 300 lbs. Ideal weights are between 275 lbs. and 300 lbs.
- Diet - An all-natural feed is required. This means no bi-products and or fillers. Vitamin/mineral packs are allowed. Farms may be subject to an audit in which feed samples may be taken.
- Environment - Access to pasture is required. Pigs can have feed houses but must be able to easily access pasture.
- Humane - Standard humane protocol must be followed. Detailed list of this protocol should be provided upon request.
- No antibiotics no hormones - We require a "never-ever" approach with regards to antibiotics and hormones.
Sausage Pigs Protocol:
- Heritage Breed - Any heritage breed or cross of heritage breeds can be raised and sold to FatBack in order to supply us with the ground pork necessary to produce our brands of sausage. Heritage breeds include: Berkshire, Duroc, Yorkshire, Tamworth, Waddle.
- Weight Requirement - There is no weight requirement for sausage pigs. Our cutoff weight is 400 lbs.
- Diet - An all-natural feed is required. This means no bi-products and/or fillers. Vitamin/mineral packs are acceptable. Farms may be subject to an audit in which feed samples may be taken.
- Environment - Access to pasture is required. Pigs can have feed houses but must be able to easily access pasture.

Whole Hog
- Heritage Breed - Breeds for whole hogs include purebred or a cross between Berkshire, Yorkshire, Duroc.
- Weight Requirements - Whole hogs will be ordered on a per pig basis with a target weight for each pig. There will be a +/- variance of 15lbs. in either direction for these hogs.
- Diet - An all-natural feed is required. This means no bi-products and or fillers. Vitamin/mineral packs are acceptable. Farms may be subject to an audit in which feed samples may be taken.
- Environment - Access to pasture is required. Pigs can have feed houses but must be able to easily access pasture.
